Steven Fox

Steven Fox, teacher emeritus at Shaker Heights (OH) High School, taught English for 32 years. He was named the Outstanding English Language Arts Educator by the Ohio Council of Teachers of English Language Arts and awarded a Fulbright Teacher Exchange by the United States Information Agency, resulting in a year of teaching at the Charles Read Secondary School in Corby Glen, Lincolnshire, England. He is a long time reader and table leader at the Advanced Placement reading, and a frequent participant in the reading of the Test of Written English. He is a diploma examiner for the International Baccalaureate Organization, and was for many years a reader of the SAT Achievement Test in Writing before the essay became a part of the standard SAT, and a test item writer for the ACT. He conducts workshops and institutes in both English AP subjects and most of the College Board's pre-AP initiatives, and he is an author, staff developer, and workshop leader for the AVID Center of San Diego. He has authored several textbooks, including the College Board's Official SAT Study Guide and Peoples Education's Advanced Composition Skills, and he co-authored their AP English Bound and Entering the Conversation.
