Marjorie Hansen Shaevitz

Marjorie Hansen Shaevitz is Founder and Director of adMISSION POSSIBLE®, an admissions counseling program that began in 1996 and website that was launched in 2007. She is an award-winning author, speaker and professional counselor who has successfully helped thousands of students select and get admitted to colleges.

Marjorie is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and a former member of the Stanford University's Parents' Board and Chair of the Advisory Council for Stanford's Institute for Women & Gender. She also spent twelve years as a trustee for La Jolla Country Day School. After completing a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology at Stanford University, she was the Orientation Officer at the East West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, an education/research association that strengthens relations among peoples of Asia, the Pacific and the United States. She then returned to Stanford as a member of the Dean of Students Office. Later she directed the Re-entry Program at the University of California, San Diego and co-authored the McGraw-Hill book So You Want to Go Back to School.
