WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR...

Fiction: general, commercial, or contemporary fiction; stories with strong female characters, compelling emotional hooks, and page-turning drama; thrillers; coming-of-age stories; issue-driven narratives that empower and inspire; rom-coms and relationship-driven novels; book-club fiction; voices that resonate with millennial and gen-z audiences; or anything spooky, creepy, or downright chilling.

Nonfiction: narrative nonfiction with commercial appeal; women’s issues; anything and everything related to pop-culture; nonfiction centered on media and entertainment; smart nonfiction with a witty voice and jaw-dropping humor.

Also: college reference and study aids that both inform and engage readers.

RIGHT NOW, PLEASE DON'T SEND ME...

YA or children, mystery, cozy mystery, southern fiction, science fiction, graphic novels, travel, or westerns

HOW I GOT INTO PUBLISHING...

I’ve always been a bibliophile. As a child, I was always lost in one installment or another of A Series of Unfortunate Events, and my love of books only grew over time. In college, I majored in business management and double-minored in creative writing and English. After, I attended The George Washington University for graduate school, where I received my Master of Professional Studies in Publishing.

SOME FAVORITE BOOKS AND AUTHORS I DIDN'T PUBLISH...

My all-time favorite novel is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, and my favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut. Recent books that I’ve read and loved are Three Women by Lisa Taddeo, The Whisper Network by Chandler Baker, The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave, Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reed, You Too Can Have a Body Like Mine by Alexandra Kleeman, and Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid.

ONE OF THE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS AN EDITOR DOES FOR AN AUTHOR IS...

be the book’s champion!

I LOVE MY JOB BECAUSE...

I get to connect with incredible authors and join them in a mission to share their stories with the world. Every day, I have the opportunity to work on books that will change readers’ lives, and that’s an amazing process to take part in.

WHEN I'M NOT READING, I'LL BE...

Watching The Golden Girls, obsessing over scary movies, enjoying a glass of wine, looking at pictures of dogs on the internet, or eating pasta. (Usually all at the same time.)
