Our Philanthropic Outreach
Sourcebooks supports organizations dedicated to promoting literacy and books changing lives. Since 2014 Sourcebooks has donated $578,663 in books to the following schools, non-profit, health, religious and community organizations:

- Bernie’s Book Bank – Bernie’s Book Bank sources, processes and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among under-served infants, toddlers, and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.
- The Book Industry Charitable Foundation "BINC" - BINC is a nonprofit that coordinates charitable programs to strengthen the bookselling community. Their core program provides assistance to employees and shop owners who have a demonstrated financial need arising from severe hardship and/or emergency circumstances. Since its inception, the organization has provided over $9 million in financial assistance and scholarships to more than 9000+ families. Support for the Foundation’s programs and services comes from all sectors of the book and comic industries. The Foundation was imagined and built by booksellers and proudly continues to be their safety net.
- Book Rich Environments - Book Rich Environments is a tri-sector collaboration between nonprofit organizations, national government agencies, and corporate publishers that aims to infuse public housing communities across the country with a vibrant and accessible culture of books. The initiative connects families living in public housing communities with reading-related resources, working to improve opportunities and outcomes for public housing residents.

Additionally, a significant portion of the profits from the 2021 The Legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg Wall Calendar will benefit causes Ruth Bader Ginsburg believed in and supported throughout her life. In total, $200,000 have been donated to the following organizations and foundations:
- Malala Fund – A nonprofit organization advocating for girls’ education around the world. It is co-founded by Pakistani activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai.
- Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center – The world’s oldest and largest private cancer center that has devoted more than 135 years to patient care, innovative research, and educational programs.
- National Organization for Women Foundation – The nonprofit arm of the National Organization for Women devoted to achieving full equality for women through education and litigation.
- United States Holocaust Memorial Museum – A living memorial to the Holocaust, the museum inspires citizens and leaders worldwide to confront hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity.
- Washington Concert Opera – Provides a secure home for rarely performed operatic masterpieces, gives established artists the opportunity to perform in debut roles as well as signature roles, and introduces the exceptional talents of emerging artists.
- American Bar Foundation – Among the world’s leading research institutes for the empirical and interdisciplinary study of law. The foundation seeks to advance the understanding and improvement of law through research projects on the most pressing issues.
